Weston-super-Mare Rugby Football Club is celebrating its 150th Anniversary this season and has arranged several special events.
Before Saturday’s [December 6, 2025] Regional 2 Tribute Ale South West game, when the unbeaten league leaders were hosting second-placed Tiverton, the club’s Past Players Association held a pre-match lunch.
Among those attending were 21 former captains, including three who have made over 400 appearances for the Club - Paul Tincknell, Chris Brown, Andy Crocker.
The earliest captain at the event was Colin Price (1974/75 season) when Weston played against sides like Exeter, Worcester, Clifton, and suffered a narrow defeat to Bath in the Somerset Cup final
A fourth member of the 400 club, Ashley Russell, was away leading Weston United in their 31-nil Counties 3 Tribute Ale Somerset South victory at Martock, where the second row converted his own try in his 500th senior appearance for the Club.
