The passing of Club Trustee Rod Crocker
It is with deep regret that Weston-super-Mare RFC announces the sudden passing away of Rod Crocker.
Rod suffered a cardiac arrest this morning (Thursday, February 8, 2024), whilst at home.
His wife, Sandra, was with him when he passed away. Paramedics arrived very quickly but were unable to resuscitate him.
Rod was the Past Players Association Chairman and Treasurer for 27 years, since the Association was formed in 1994, and was made their Honorary Life President in 2022.
During his time with the Past Players Association, Rod organised, including pre-match lunches, evening meals with partners, skittle matches, bowls matches, 10 & 20-year celebration luncheons, 45 newsletters, as well as visits to Taunton races and Somerset Cricket
Rod played for the Club, served for many years as a Committee Member, served as Chairman between 1986 and 1990, Club President 1990/92 and was a Club Trustee.
Weston-super-Mare RFC send their sincere condolences to Rod’s wife Sandra, the family, and friends at this sad time.
