Dings Crusaders go through as the away side after the scores end level

Weston-super-Mare are out of this season's Bristol Combination Cup as holders Dings Crusaders progressed to a semi-final tie on the away side rule after the game at the Recreation Ground finished with the scores level.
Both sides were forced to defend their line for long periods but the only score of the first half came when, with Dings down to 14 men with prop Josh Lloyd in the sin-bin, came through a penalty from Weston centre James Mackay.
The Seasiders had an opportunity to increase their lead ten minutes in to the second half but the penalty attempt from out wide on the left by replacement fly-half George Kimmins sailed passed the far upright.
Dings were on level terms five minutes later after a high tackle from outside centre Andy Evans on lock Tom Knight and scrum half Steven Plummer slotted the 22 metre kick between the uprights.
James Arnold, in his first game back of the season for Weston having returned from his travels to Australia, burst half the length of the pitch past four defenders for the opening try of the game.
With full time approaching a short ball from a scrum saw Edwards find a gap in the Weston defence to score by the posts but Plummer, needing the conversion to win the game, failed to find his target.
Dings, who lifted the lifted the trophy last season for the first time after an absence of 15 years with a 36-18 victoryover Weston, will now host Avonmouth Old Boys in the semis with Thornbury hosting Clifton in the other semi.
In the semi-finals of the Bristol Combination Vase, Southmead host Bishopston while Old Bristolians are at home to Bristol Saracens. Ties for both competitions are scheduled to be played before February 12, 2012.
