Weston Athletic made the short to The Nest to face unbeaten Hornets 3rdXV in the Friday night Tribute Somerset 2 North match but when down 24-12.

Second row Mark Walker crossed for the opening try for the Seasiders with fly-half Dan Beer adding the extras.

Hornets came back through two converted tries and another two touchdowns to gain a 24-7 advantage.

But Weston reduced the arrears before the final whistle with a try from flanker Tom Burge.

The bonus point victory keeps Hornets 3rd at the top of the table with Weston Athletic in fourth place ahead of the Saturday afternoon’s matches.
