PJ Grimes marked his 100th appearance for Weston Athletic by scoring his first try of the season as the Seasiders secured their first victory since October 9, 2021, and avenged a 49-7 defeat in November.

Second row Sam Light crossed for the first of Weston’s tries, converted by inside centre Alex Humphrey, followed by wing Grimes’ touchdown. But the visitors were on level terms at the break after two tries and a conversion.

The United lost tighthead prop, Charlie Owens, to ten minutes in the sin-bin and the visitors crossed for their third try. Touchdowns from replacement Rich Bishop and the full-back James Harris secured the try-scoring bonus point for the home side.

Back came Oldfield with their bonus point try, but a try from scrum-half Dylan Way completed the scoring and Weston’s third victory of the season.
