NATIONAL LEAGUE 3 SOUTH WEST
WESTON 16 pts BOURNEMOUTH 17 pts
AFTER leading by 16-10 up to the 76th minute at the Recreation Ground, Weston lost this match by a single point in the third minute of time added.
A missed tackle in midfield resulted in a try at the posts by visiting wing Tom Morgan, converted by fly-half Jon Sanchez.
Their line-out was poor and this was compounded by some equally bad handling, and the visitors eventually took maximum advantage.
Weston were ahead in the seventh minute with Jack Skelton’s penalty and they stretched their advantage in the 21st.
Bournemouth failed to find the touchline and full-back Ross Bennett had a good hand in centre Sylvan Edwards’ splendid try, which Skelton majorised.
Before the break, Sanchez replied with a penalty and the Seasiders were fortunate when the same player failed with a similar attempt from 20 metres.
Apart from the line-out, Weston were winning a good share of possession, but their handling left a lot to be desired. Even so, they managed to get themselves into attacking positions.
Their scrum was now in full swing and they were rewarded with a brace of penalties by Skelton to give them that six-point advantage, but Bournemouth had the final word to leave the hosts in 12th place in National 3 South West.
