Weston took the lead when Combe Down lost possession and inspirational No 8 Eddy Saunders crossed to put Weston on the way. Prop Darren Doughty then combined with hooker Dave Burge to put scrum-half Jack Allen over for a try, converted from wide out by fly-half Chris Young.

The United scored again when Burge put Young over for a try, which he converted. A great run by full-back Chris Hurd got Weston into an attacking position. The hosts gave a penalty away and Weston elected to take a scrum from which Young dummied his way over between the sticks, again adding the extras.

Saunders then broke straight from the restart which resulted in Doughty scoring and it was Saunders again providing the yards which ended with Matt Burns crossing.

Hurd popped up on the end of another Young pass following a break by Stuart Broad before Steven Thompson finished the first half off with a try, after a break by Burns.

The second half started with Combe Down scoring a converted try. Weston however, continued to score tries with Young completing his hat-trick and scores for Mike Leahy, Darren Hancock and Saunders, which was converted by Young to give him 31 points on the day.
