Somerset II South
Weston United 81 pts Tor II 0 pts
With this comprehensive victory over a gallant Tor 2ndXV side in ideal playing conditions at the Rec, the United completed their league campaign in Somerset II South with 20 wins from 20 games.
Despite the scoreline, this match wasn't all one-way traffic with the visitors' forwards gaining a fair share of possession, but unlike Weston, lacked a cutting edge in the backs.
A continued stream of scoring saw the United score 13 tries through wingers James Arnold (4) and Tom Main (2), fly-half Chris Young (2) and one try each for Steele, Walker, Drabble, Hobbs, and Glen.
Eight of the 13 tries were converted, Young scoring five and Arnold, Main and Wheatley kicking one each.
One of the most encouraging aspects was the continued performances from Glen, Cook and Simpson, all of whom should be pushing for first team honours next season following long injury lay-offs.
After the game, the team presented skipper Tom Wheatley with a surprise gift to thank him for his efforts throughout the year.
The United scored 1,255 points in their league games and conceded only 76 aand finishing at the top of the table, ten points clear of Bridgwater & Albion.
