Bracknell 38 Westopn-super-Mare nil

Bracknell's all-round ability suggested they will be difficult to stop on their way to a return to the National Leagues.

At Lily Hill Park, they displayed direct attacking which brought them six tries, and a defence so solid that Weston had only one clear chance to score.

Just after the break, with the score at 24-0, Matthew Burns latched on to skipper David Burge's chip and was proceeding to the line unopposed when referee Mr Maddern recalled him and then unaccountably awarded Weston a penalty instead.

Chris Young's kick at goal was wide, which eventually resulted in the Seasiders failing to trouble the scoreboard for only the second time since April 2001.

For the first 20 minutes Weston had been well in contention with strong running by William Tuitupo and astute tactical kicking by Harry Warman and James Reid, but a sliced kick by Bracknell's Oliver Jones and a bad bounce for Warman gave the hosts their first try by Andrew Byett.

Ben Nowak converted and five minutes later a misinterpretation of the driving maul presented Bracknell with a touch-down by Joe Shelton.

Former Bridgwater fly-half Jervis Maunpena was next to score and in first-half stoppage time, Rudal Aiono barged over from a five-metre scrum.

Nowak converted and Bracknell were on their way to their sixth win of the campaign.

The third quarter was much better for the visitors, mainly due to their scrimmage, and particu-larly due to Hallam Smith and the ever-improving Ed Hunt.

But several line-outs were forfeited, including a pair near the home line, and Bracknell added two more tries at the end through Manupena and Aiono who finished off the second half as they had the first, Nowak kicking his fourth conversion.

The Seasiders now have two tough matches. On Saturday they entertain third placed Cleve at the Recreation Ground and on November 3 they travel to Maidenhead.
